Scottish 10TT Championships. (Newton Mearns)
This year the Championship was held on what can only be described as sporting course. Heading out of Newton Mearns on the A77 required almost all the gears available, some fast sections on the return though brought speeds of 45+ mph near the finish.
With last weeks disappointing result at the British 10TT Championships still fresh in the mind i was unsure of how I'd go. Starting well on the up hill out of Newton Mearns i was getting time checks on Evan & Mark who are both fast riders i knew would be dangerous. Checks were good and by the return leg i had a cushion that obviously required no checks as Caroline & Shona had dispensed with the clock and resorted to just shouting. Thank you to them.
Back at the finish and 19:58 was my time. Evan & Mark had fought out a close battle for 2nd & 3rd, with Evan just taking it. Our team (The Edge RT/ Dooley's cycles) had won team prize completing a good day at the races.
