Scottish 25TT Championship. (Eglington Country Park)

Defending Champion & having just won the RTTC National 25TT title, rolling up behind Mark Atkinson (my 2 minute man) on the start line felt good.
I started strongly in an attempt to ride under the "50 minute" barrier. I was feeling good and on course going into the second half of the race. With just under 8 miles or so to go i punctured and had to ride for 3 miles on a soft/flat rear wheel before getting back onto the A78 and luckily my Formula 1 pitt team were on hand with a spare wheel for me to put in for the final stretch. The race was now on for the win with Mark Atkinson well ahead on the road i was not sure of the gap.
I finished with a 51:58, good enough for the Gold. Mark Atkinson was a well deserved 2nd in 53:05 and with the ride of the day Jim Cusick in a 54:04 for 3rd. The Edge RT/Dooley's cycles took the team prize, well done to Gary & Sean.

RTTC National 25TT Championships. (southport)

Another trip down south started with the journey north to pick up the Highland Institute of sport car. A nice barn conversion was our home for a few days before the event.
Arriving on the Friday with a ride round the course to loosen the legs after sitting in the car was ideal. Saturday morning and we're of out to the course again for a light ride, checking out the round abouts & bends on the single track.
Being last man as defending Champion was nice and also put me in the position to get "real time", time checks on the other riders ahead. Turning onto the main road after a few Miles and Donald shouts my first check - "18 up". The checks keep coming every time i pass him and with 4 or 5 miles to go I'm still "20 up". Feeling the pressure in the last few miles i lost a few seconds but came through to win in 49:44. A special thanks to Donald for his support and belief.
