Decembers Training.
I started December with a recovery week which seemed to last a life time. The weather was as you'd expect so that made things a little easier to handle. The weather for the rest of the month was not to bad all things considered. Very cold at times but this can be quite nice. Myself & Ben Thompson managed to ride the Glenuig loop during the month, virtually unheard of at this time of year. (this is the Chris Sidwells report on the same ride we did during the summer)

Having made it through Christmas & now New Year, all be it over fed and over weight, I'm looking forward to January and a 2008 to see what it brings.
All the best to everyone for the coming season.

Chloe and Morgan.
We all said goodbye to a very special person today. Lots of people travelled from Shetland, Aberdeen, London, Glasgow, Northern Ireland, Ayrshire, Inverness, Edinburgh and a hundred other places to Fort William to be with you, your mum and the rest of your family.
We are all very, very sorry to hear about what happened to your dad and everyone will miss him so much. We all have very happy, and very special memories of your dad and nothing will ever take those away.
Give your mum an extra big cuddle from all of your dad's friends and remember that all of us are thinking about you - and those lovely big smiles that we saw today. xx

I still can't beleive this has all happened, its just so tragic. We only got to know each other at the begining of 2006 but you've had a big impact on my life. That night when you broke the Scottish 10 record and I was there to capture it, I will never forget it, an amazing and emotional night.
My heart goes out to Caroline and the girls.

It's been 5 days since I got the sad news. There was me complaining to a friend in scotland about getting a few cuts and bruises from being hit by a car on Jan 8... Then I got a reply with the news about Jason. Any pain I had became pretty insignificant when I heard the sad news of Jason's departure. Amazing rider, and damn nice guy, and by the sounds of things he was a hero to his family too. I'll never forget the good times and funny moments of our season together on Velo Ecosse. My sincere condolences to Caroline, Chloe and Morgan, and the rest of Jason's family. You'll be missed goldenboy!

Suck a shock to see this news! My sympathies are with his family and friends for their most tragic loss. His loss is a huge loss for British Cycling. He was a true "Braveheart", and great Scottish patriot.

Sincere sympathy to all Jason's family and friends on your tragic loss from all at Ballymena Road Club, Northern Ireland.
We fondly remember Jason winning the Tour of the North stage race.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

This shocking loss will touch the whole nation. It is yet another reminder that cyclists' lives are in the hands of motorists. Our hearts go out to Jason's family and friends.

Im still in total disbelief of the whole accident, jason (goldenboy) was a true friend to me on and off the bike and we spent many good times together racing and training. Whenever i needed some hard training i would go and stay with jason and his family and they always welcomed me in. Jasons priority was sorting out the family then we got stuck into some serious training. He was like a hero to me as well as a loyal team mate, he had achieved so much on the bike without much help and he was always willing to help and encourage me onto greater things. When i first started road racing Jason was like my mentor in the races and he was always willing to help someone else win! What he has achieved the last 2 years in time trialling is an inspiration to me. It is such a sad loss that he is not going be able to achieve what i know he was capable of in 08. My heart goes out to his wife Carloine and their twin daughters Chloe and Morgan and the rast of the family and friends.

Although I did not meet you personally, Jason, I know that all cyclists in Scotland over recent years saw you as THE icon for Scottish Cycling. And our sense of loss is now worldwide...
My deep condolences go to your family.

As the Father of a past Nat. Champ. at both MTB and Cyclo Cross, Tim Morley, I can only express my deepest sympathy to Caroline and twin daughters and to Jassons mum and dad for this tragic loss to British Cycling and all their family and although unconsolable I wish you Caroline every strenght to get through this very sad time.

Having survived those early days of total devastation and disbelief we are so sad to see another family going through the same emotional turmoil. We hope that by supporting each other you will survive this as we did. God Bless.

We are all totally stunned and horrified to hear this awful news. Jason was a genuinely lovely guy and one of the most talented athletes in Scotland. Few people know how hard he fought and how much he had to overcome to achieve what he did.
Our family will miss him so much. He was a one off and pure class on a bike. Our love to Caroline, Morgan and Chloe.

You will always be in the hearts of Caroline and your wee girls - Cycling and the world is a lesser place without you.

A true champion in every sense of the word.
