Jason was tragically killed while cycling on the A82 near Fort William on 15th January. His death marks the untimely end of a brilliant cycling career.
Jason will be remembered by all who knew him for his determination to excel in cycling, alongside the other passion in his life, his wife and children, who are in our thoughts and prayers.

Another tragedy on our roads, another talented cyclist struck down in his prime. I read the previous articles about Jason in Cycling Weekly with great interest, and thought 'good on you, mate' such natural talent and dedication. Thank God he had the wherewithall to actually use those talents and inspire others

Having survived those dreadful early days of total devastation and disbelief it saddens us to think of another family going through the same things. Our hearts go out to all of Jasons family and we hope that you find the strength to support each other as we did. God bless.

The death of any cyclist on the road is tragic, but to lose a man of Jason's quality is a disaster and just when he was primed for greatness in the sport. My condolences to all his family and friends.

Very sad news. I didn't know Jason or his family but, as a fellow cyclist, my sincere thoughts are with his wife and daughters. It may be difficult to think of it at the moment, but all best wishes for the future.

I found this written on the web and thought this would be a nice place for it-
We watched you ride your Bicycle, a Man at one with his machine,
Watched with awe and wonderment, your like are rarely ever seen
Saw you as a champion a hard yet humble man,
Raise your hands up high as only Champions can
We gasped at your tenacity, willpower and desire,
A blur of white-hot energy ‘ The Mighty MacIntyre’
We slumped and shook our heads in shock, tears stung in our eyes
As we watched, read and listened to the News of your demise
How can this be, when you had so much left to give?
Why do good men fall, whilst the bad are left to live?
We will not forget you, we shall not forget your name
This loss is not the end, it has not put out your flame
We feel it burning in our hearts, flicker in your loved ones eyes
Hear your laugh as rumbling thunder, feel your warmth in sunlit skies
This world shall not forget you, a man who rode on Wheels of fire
You live on in all of us that feel ‘The Spirit Of MacIntyre’
Cheers Big Fella.

i cant believe you are gone, i don't want to believe it. listening to your december cd, as per usual the tunes are awesome and the mixing is impeccable but then we didn't expect anything less from you. i feel like my heart has been ripped out so i can't begin to imagine how caroline is feeling but don't you doubt for a second i won't be there for your girls mate, i give you my word nothing will ever be a problem(as long as it doesn't inconvenience me too much)
i want to say thanks for 17 years worth of memorys, one of the best was when we shared the house in orkney place and you and caroline told me caroline was pregnant, we laughed at the thought of it being twins and thankfully it was mate. there are many memorys before that and there have been even more since but we'll keep those for another time.
i feel very lucky and extremely proud too have you as friend and i know my dad is going too miss his number 1 son. i will never forget you jason, how could anyone? you were awesome mate and don't let anyone tell you any different. my only regret is i didn't spent more time with you when i had the chance.
So to the Biggest of All Men,
i hope your bangin out the tunes as well as the miles wherever you are,
i love you bro
wee eck.

What a disaster! For everyone. British Cycling, Jason, his family, his friends, his competitors, all cyclists. When is this country going to join the many other civilised nations in providing cyclists strong road-use rights? Many condolences to Jason's wife and girls.....
